JAPANESE JIS TESTS

JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARDS TESTS "JIS" (Materials must meet strict guidelines before they can be sold in the Japanese market.) THERMO-SHIELD® ROOFING, INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR COATINGS have passed all required tests.

LOW TEMPERATURE STABILITY- JIS A 6906 (1984) 5.5 RESISTANCE TO CRACKING DURING CURINGAND DRYING STAGE - JIS A 6906 (1984)

5.7 ADHESION STRENGTH TEST - JIS A 6909 (1984) 5.8
  • On the Normal Condition Test, THERMO-SHIELD® had 3 times the requirement for Adhesion.
  • After the Saturation Test, THERMO-SHIELD® had 8 times the requirement for Adhesion.

REPEATED TEMPERATURE CHANGE - JIS A6909 (1984) 5.9
  • Even under extreme temperature fluctuations, the coating showed no signs of peeling, cracking, blistering or discoloration. TEST FOR WATERPROOF - JIS A 6909 (1984) 5.10
  • THERMO-SHIELD® Performed Ten Times better than required to be classified as waterproof . WASHABILITY - JIS A6909 (1984) 5.11 IMPACT, SHOCK TEST - JIS A6909 (1984) 5.12
  • Did not crack, peel, or change form under impact ALKALINITY TEST - JIS A 6909 (1984) 5.13.2
  • Did not crack, blister, peel, gum, change color or dull RESISTANCE TO WEATHER & CLIMATE - JIS A 6909 (1984) 5.14
  • When exposed to the elements, the coating didn't crack peel or discolor above a #3 gray scale.
  • The coating had the best color retention of all 15 paints tested. FIRE RESISTANCE TEST, CLASS 1 - JIS A 1321
  • Flame Retention: No flame remained over 30 seconds after heating stopped. The retention was 0.
  • The coating did not fuse, crevice, change form, or bow when cooled.
